Blue String and Bathtub Flings

Blue String and Bathtub Flings
There are a couple of bathtub scenes in the Fifty Shades Trilogy, but when I decided to attempt an illustration of one of the scenes, I chose the night that Christian surprised Ana in Georgia. There was quite a lot of buildup that led to this particular part of the first book, so I thought it would be more interesting to try. (Plus, I didn’t feel as enthusiastic about creating an illustration of Ana earning an “A” in oral skills. Not that it wasn’t a great scene, but I didn’t think it’d be as interesting. It’d kind of look like she was dunking her head underwater into his lap. That’s the mental picture I kept coming up with. I think it would probably end up looking more comical than erotic.)

As I mentioned, a lot of events led up to this particular moment: surprising her at the bar, Ana gathering the courage to ask Christian if he ever loved Elena…the blue string. Ah yes…the blue string. That was a surprise, eh? ;) They didn’t even make it to the tub at this point!

But, after finally making their way out of the first portion of the enormous bathroom, and after Ana gives Christian another ‘interrogation’ (his words) they finally settle into the tub. So, this illustration captures the moment when Ana gives Christian a kiss before the whirlpool action begins!

We all know how much of a stickler Mr. Grey is about good grooming and personal hygiene, so I’m sure this particular evening he spent with Ana in Savannah was doubly enjoyable for him. ;)

Hi Victoria. Absolutely love this one!!!! This maybe my new favorite but can’t decide between this one & the elevator scene. Do you ever get requests to buy these? Do you know if E L James has seen these? They are great!!!

Hi Laura! I’m so glad you liked this illustration so much! So great to hear that it’s one of your favorites too! This particular scene isn’t as talked about as the elevator scene, so I’m happy to hear that you really enjoyed it! I have had a couple requests about buying prints, but I haven’t really given it a lot of serious thought. Never expected my illustrations to attract much interest and that people would want to actually purchase them! I am aware that E L James did see at least one of my pieces: the Grey blanket one! :) Thanks again for your wonderful comments!
